This jersey comes to us from the personal collection of a prominent European-based international hockey official.
This pro-weight jersey (with fight strap) was manufactured by Nike and is similar to the jerseys worn by the USA in the 1996 World Cup and the IIHF's 1997 Pool A World Championships, which were held in Helsinki, Finland. The jersey features a sewn-on name and numbers.
This special jersey was used by the IIHF to honor goalie Gerry Cosby, when he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class of 1997. Cosby backstopped the USA to its first World Championship title in 1933 and also played on the US national team in the 1938 World Championships. Cosby later owned and operated the famous Gerry Cosby Sporting Goods store in New York's Madison Square Garden.

USA
Terrific Team USA jersey from the 1987 Canada Cup. This air-knit jersey was made by CCM. It includes the CCM patch on the back hem with a circled "R". A faded "52" has been added to the tag in the neck in blue ballpoint.
Everything on the jersey is sewn-on, including the nice embroidered Team USA crest and "Mason" across the nameplate.
Bob Mason did not get into any actual tournament action in '87, so the light game use (a black puck mark on the front and one on each sleeve) is likely from shots in warm-up.
A nice style to add to your Team USA/goalie collection.
